EVANDRO OKÀN

Evandro Okàn is a singer, songwriter, and artistic director who has been building a unique path in contemporary Brazilian music.

His music brings together lyricism, identity, and purpose, with strong influences from Black diaspora music, hip hop culture, and MPB (Brazilian Popular Music). In 2016, he released the acclaimed EP Gente Bonita, and since then, he has performed on stages and in projects that reaffirm his commitment to art and collective expression.

In August 2025, he performed at the 39th edition of SummerStage, at Central Park in New York, expanding his international presence.

Beyond his music career, he is also recognized for his work behind the scenes of the cultural scene. As a music entrepreneur and artistic director, he has produced and developed shows for artists such as Liza Lou (Rock in Rio 2024) and Drik Barbosa (Lollapalooza Brasil 2025).

He is co-founder of Laboratório Fantasma, where for over 16 years he has led initiatives that connect innovation, representation, and social impact.

In November 2025, he released the single Se Acolhe, a track featuring the final recording of his mother, Dona Jacira — one of his main personal and artistic references —, reinforcing the intimate and ancestral dimension present in his work. The release also marks his partnership with Virgin Music Group, part of Universal Music.
