JÉSSICA GASPAR

Singer, songwriter, performer, visual artist, costume designer and creative director. Jéssica creates works and  performances that honor the memories of the population  Afro Brazilian.

 

Launched in 2022  their first singles: Capim Dourado and They will have to pay. In 2023, he released his first EP, AMOR. And in 2024, Brisa, afrohouse in partnership with Maz and Ant.dot, which is opening up a world of possibilities.

 

With a powerful and velvety voice, it is easy to be enchanted by her beauty and presence. At the sound of her voice, the queens of yesterday and today are bathed in poetry and melodies that emanate love, peace and affection.

 

Jéssica started her career at CUFA. It was there that she also developed as a dancer, in the Krump dance. Her poetry is sophisticated and raises important reflections on ancestry, black and female emancipation.

 

The artist performed in some cultural spaces such as Sesc Pompéia, Virada Cultural de SP, Circo Voador-RJ,  Auditorium Ibirapuera-SP, Casa Natura Musical, FAN - Festival de Arte Negra de BH and recently at the Bienal de São Paulo with rapper Bnegão.

She is part of the first editorial of the COLORs program in Brazil, where she was invited to create exclusive content for one of the most famous YouTube music channels in the world.

 

His song God is a black woman,  became a plot at Salvador's carnival in 2020, with Bloco Ókánbí. And it has already been translated into English and Italian, and is also  included in several academic researches.

 

Received recognition from the Ilú Obá Institute of Education, Culture and Black Art as a black voice and black artist necessary for Brazil in the 21st century. He is a member of Afoxé Filhas de Gandy.
